About

The purpose of the institute is to realize far-reaching changes, operating simultaneously on two levels: (a) a specific set of technological solutions (syntropic energy sources) that address current energy and ecological problems; and (b) the dissemination of advanced knowledge in the natural and human sciences in the light of Syntropy, especially concerning contemporary paradigmatic changes.

The institute’s fundamental goals are the physical realization of the “light bulb” and the establishment of a “syntropic” perception of the world.

The idea of Syntropy has been developed for almost 60 years from both a natural science perspective (mathematical analysis, development of syntropic technologies) and a humanistic perspective (philosophy, sociology, psychology). We emphasize these transdisciplinary connections, which we are fully aware of, actively develop, and continuously enhance.

Who are we?

Andrej Detela

Andrej Detela is, by formal education, a natural scientist (physics), but he equally devotes himself to philosophy and other humanistic disciplines. By nature, he is a researcher committed to holistic thinking and action. Art: Literature, humanism; member of the PEN association. Technology: Holder of several patents, encouraged by innovations in the field of electric mobility, he co-founded, with Gorazd Lampič, the globally successful high-tech company Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd. in 2006. Science: Andrej’s main research passion and long-standing activity is the young scientific field of Syntropy (theoretical analyses, experimental work, three books on Syntropy published so far, with much more material awaiting publication…). He is the founder of the Institute for Syntropy, where, together with a group of younger researchers, he is preparing the foundations for the global establishment of the syntropy concept—in its physical, biological, social, and ethical dimensions. www.andrejdetela.si

Ram Dušić Hren

Physicist, entrepreneur, athlete, and musician. In 2020 he founded the company Bright3r, where he focuses on projects and education in the fields of sustainable solutions and systemic change. Prior to that, he has had a decade long career in science and technology, working in academic science (Jožef Stefan Institute), startup world and the corporation IBM. In the Institute for Syntropy, he focuses on the bridge between scientific and technological innovations and the implications of those innovations for social systems.

Gorazd Lampič

Gorazd Lampič is a physicist, athlete, chess player, and entrepreneur, who, together with Andrej Detela, founded the company Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd. Elaphe is a global leader in in-wheel motors and systems for electric vehicles. In 2017, Gorazd was selected as Slovenia’s Young Manager of the Year. As a director, he grew Elaphe to over a hundred employees, achieving its highest annual revenue of over 20 million EUR and a profit of 5 million EUR. With the Elaphe team, he convinced key clients in the EU, the USA, Japan, China, South Korea, Brazil, and other parts of the world. He is the author of eleven patents, secured 16.2 million EUR in equity investments, and brought Elaphe into more than twenty major European research projects with leading institutions. In the field of Syntropy, Gorazd assists Andrej and the team as a physicist through computer simulations.

Vesna Žvegla

An enthusiastic researcher of humans, life, and the world. She is an author, lecturer, mentor, transformer, and consultant for companies. By formal education, she is a communications specialist and holds a Master’s degree in International Economics. She worked for several years in various managerial and director positions in the corporate world and today follows her own path.

Andrej Lukšič

Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, in the Department of Analytical Political Science, and a specialist in political ecology, researcher, and also director of the Institute for Ecology. In addition, he is the editor of the OIKOS series at the Institute for the Critique of Science.

Tibor Hrs Pandur

Poet, Teslologist, comparativist, and literary historian, employed as a researcher on the project Nikola Tesla: Philosophy of Energy, Technology, and Religion and Its Relevance Today (Institute for Philosophical and Religious Studies, ZRS Koper, and AMEU Maribor).

Janko Kobal

By education, he holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in electronics. He works on the experimental implementation of syntropy in semiconductor chips.
